Confederate Flags...Is my town racist?????

Here lately, there have been many post on this topic. So here goes....I am from Georgia. In the South, we do not look at the Confederate flag as a racial thing...it is heritage of the South. It is not about slavery either. The Civil War had African Americans fighting on both sides and both sides had slaves! Hate groups such as the KKK have chosen to use the Confederate flag and give it a bad reputation with Northerners. The Nazis did the same thing with a cross...turned something good into a hate symbol. Many white and blacks in the south wear/wave/display the Confederate flag! It is not something the South should be ashamed of!
